Day 2-2 Day Trip in Bangkok 第二天-2 曼谷一日遊

That's why I like Thailand!!

After brunch in Dalingchan, I went to National museum to take a look of Thailand's history, especially in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai period.

Grand Palace in a distance. The weather in rain season is often overcast in the afternoon.

European styled building blending Thai decoration on the roof edge along the way indicates the influence from western culture.

Thailand (Siam in old days) set its capital originally in Sukhothai in northern area. Burma intruded Siam several times and caused Siam to move to southern area. So Ayatthaya and Sukhothai therefore became capital one after another.
Siam on the map is now called Ayutthaya. Wars make Thailand's capital moved to Bangkok.

Soldiers used to fight on the back of elephants.

Reclining Buddha in Wat Pho. I was really touched since my childhood's dream came true. When learning from an adventure comic book as a kid,  I did hope to witness this someday.

Displaying 108 auspicious symbols on the foot by inlaid with mother-of-pearl.

108 bronze bowls indicate 108 auspicious Buddha images, also for people to donate. When people donate with coins into bowls, it makes some noise and does echo. One can hear it from the entrance of Wat Pho and don't know what is happening. Very special experience.

Many places are woth of visit around Grand Palace.

Asiatique is located along side of Chaophraya river. Good for enjoy sunset and modern food around the world.

I missed the sunset but caught up with the blue moment.

This guy wore a pair of Taiwan traditional slipper. Famous for its blue strap and white bottom. Classic!

The native in Asiatique are usually dressed very casual with little make-up.

International trading sometimes makes adventure tiring like this chain noodle stall.
